I met with Bev Merrill and Dannie Crawford at Sam Cooper's farm
on Saturday, October 27, 2018 for what was probably our final wagon ride of 2018. The plan was to ride from Sammy's farm in Minerva, Ky down to the banks of the Ohio River in Augusta, Ky, a distance of
about 15 miles. The morning was windy and overcast with misty rain in the air. However, we were all prepared for the weather and weren't uncomfortable at all. We left
at about 10:30 AM and were able to eat our lunch in the park on the river a few hours later. After lunch we took a ride through the town before returning to Sammy's
farm about 4:30 PM. When we returned, Sam asked me to take a few photos of his two Belgian draft studs. Both are 18+ hands tall and are major reasons for his success
as a Belgian breeder.
